The COUPLED project will participate in the 8th International Conference on Chemical Looping (ICCL 2026) in Manchester, UK, bringing together researchers, industry representatives and technology developers working to advance chemical looping technologies and accelerate industrial decarbonisation.
Throughout the conference, members of the COUPLED consortium will be available to share the project’s latest developments and exchange knowledge with the international chemical looping community.
ICCL 2026 provides an ideal platform to showcase COUPLED’s ambition to demonstrate, at TRL7, an integrated process for the production of cost-effective renewable fuels using green hydrogen, biogas, recycled CO₂ and low-quality waste gases. Building on advances in chemical looping, membrane separation and process intensification, the project brings together complementary technologies covering the value chain from biogenic and non-biogenic CO₂ to sustainable fuels.
The COUPLED consortium will contribute directly to the scientific and strategic discussions taking place at the conference.
Helical Enterprises, a COUPLED project partner, will participate in ICCL 2026 and present a poster, providing an opportunity to share its work and contribution to the project with the chemical looping community.
Coline Perrin, Innovation Consultant at PNO Innovation, will also represent COUPLED during the workshop “From Idea to Commercialization with Horizon Europe Projects.” Her contribution will explore how research and technological innovation can move beyond technical maturity towards market and industrial deployment, drawing on COUPLED as a concrete case study.
The session will highlight the importance of understanding the wider deployment ecosystem around emerging technologies, including stakeholder mapping, strategic intelligence, market positioning and pathways towards industrial uptake. COUPLED’s stakeholder analysis and ecosystem mapping will provide a practical example of how these approaches can help bridge the gap between excellent research and real-world impact.
Beyond presenting the project’s technological progress, ICCL 2026 will therefore provide an important opportunity for COUPLED to engage with researchers, industrial stakeholders and other Horizon Europe projects on the conditions needed to bring innovative decarbonisation technologies closer to the market.
